You guessed right, this is not a recipe for mämmi, the traditional Finnish Easter dessert, which looks like a brown pile of dirt.
Don’t get me wrong, I’m a huge fan of mämmi, but I understand that it’s not everyone’s cup of tea. So I’m here to give you a sure quick win. Make this quick and yummy Easter peach pie that everyone will love.
Unless they don’t like canned peaches, that is. But who doesn’t like them, they are basically tinned candy?!
Before we get started with our pie baking, I must say a few words about mämmi.
The secret to enjoying mämmi? Try it with cream, vanilla sauce, or ice cream. You can also add a bit of sugar if you want. I wouldn’t recommend eating mämmi with milk, because, in my opinion, mämmi needs some fatty round flavors with it.
I’m not kidding, mämmi is a lovely treat, if you eat it with cream.
Okay, so, besides eating buckets of mämmi, my family makes this delicious Easter pie every Easter.
The dough is actually our go-to sweet pie recipe. It’s insanely quick to make, and it works perfectly with any fruit or berry. The best thing about this dough is that it’s so easy to press down on the pie plate. This dough glides on top of a buttery surface.

Instructions for the Finnish Easter Peach Pie
Instructions for the Finnish Easter Peach Pie
Preheat oven to 390°F/200°C. Butter a pie plate (around 10 inches / 26 cm). I used a rectangle plate to mix things up a bit.
The dough takes only 10 minutes to make. Mix the butter and sugar in a bowl. Add the egg in and mix again.
Put flour and baking powder in a separate cup and mix. Then add them into the bowl and mix quickly so that all is even. That’s it.
Scrape the dough onto to pie plate and press it down with your hands. I always make a crust.
Cut peach halves into slices. Put them and raisins on the dough. Mix sour cream, egg, and sugar and pour on top of the dough and fruit. If you can’t find sour cream, any fatty yogurt, ricotta, or creme fraiche works great.
Bake the pie for 30 minutes or until golden brown. Eat immediately. Happy Easter, aka Hyvää pääsiäistä, in Finnish!

Oh oh, I have put the dough and the filling to bake. Nothing to do with your photo. Did you put the filling after baking the dough? Anyway thanks Varpu, you are great. Greetings from Valencia, Spain.
